Pre requisite required. Dancers who have never worked with feather fans must schedule a private feather fan class through Pyra before registering for "Burlesque Feather Fan II". You will learn some of Pyra's signature moves along with classic feather fan tease. This course has a balletic and jazz dance foundation; its required that students wear a leotard, leggings and ballroom heals. 

Performance Opportunity: "The burlesque feather fan dance intensive will conduct special performances throughout the valley.

Details:
Scandalesque dancers are highly trained and have developed signature acts that stress skill as well as artistry. First hour of the feather fan intensive is "Pyra Ballet" which will be working on developing "dancer lines" and good foot work. Classical dance such as Ballet can help you achieve this. Second hour is feather fan choreography.

Bio:
Pyra is known for her feather fan choreography; she's performed her signature acts for many national and international burlesque events as well as being the featured dancer for celebrity events, corporate and private events. Her signature feather fan dance was recently seen on Fox 10 News and Bravo TV's Real House Wives of OC.

Taught by Rachel Stegman of Circus School of Arizona, LLC and Pyra Sutra of Scandalesque Productions LLC. Limited amount of students can attend. All levels encouraged.

When taking this class students will learn basic burlesque choreography from up above; stressing the do's and don'ts of performing a seductive act on an apparatus.

This type of aerial dance has been done for centuries. Dating back to the vaudeville times when burlesque theater was more prevalent. Below is a video from the library of congress showing a woman performing a trapeze striptease.
